A Day at the Zoo

Today we decided to brave the REALLY cold and REALLY windy weather and make a visit to Twycross Zoo. It's only 10 mins away but it's the first time we've been in 18 months!!

Set in 40 acres, they concentrate on conservation and education, and now take part in many captive breeding programmes for endangered animals (about 3/4 of the animals there are officially classed as endangered species).

We saw loads of monkeys and I managed to capture the face of a baby gibbon (of some sort) peeking out from under its mum's arms.

  2. Hellooo! Thanks for visiting the Pigeon Loft :-) I've been having a look at your past posts and absolutely love your work. Especially the last patchwork blanket. Can't wait to have a few spare minutes (ok...hours) to have a good look further back. Keep up the good work!

  4. isn't it funny how you brave the cold to go to the zoo and the last time we went we braved the heat to go to the zoo (we had to go very early before it got too hot and the animals were all very lethargic!).
here's hoping you get some lovely warm weather soon. they are forecasting a bit of rain for us which will be an absolute miracle and an great delight.

  5. Oooh, if it's only 10mins from you it won't be THAT far from me, would it? Why have I always thought it was in Wales? Geography's not a strong point ;)
